Skateboard Truck

This is something I did for fun last fall. I designed a truck for my skateboard. Hopefully I will machine it by the end of the school year.

Sign Project

For our next project we had to design a sign to mount on our wall. I decided to make a sign for my drum room. Using Autodesk Inventor I designed my sign and then exported it as a DXF. From there we took it to our CNC plasma cutter and cut it out of steel. (As you can see the plasma machine did miss a few steps as it was cutting due to grime in the gears- a problem that we later fixed by modifying our machine. Also, as we would find out later in the year, importing DXF is not the best way to use the plasma machine and I will discuss this in a later post. It still turned out OK I think.)

Puzzle Cube

This was our first project in engineering class. We had to design and assemble a 5 piece puzzle cube in Autodesk Inventor.

Advanced Technology Complex

This past fall I was able to take an engineering class at the Advanced Technology Complex in Denton, Texas. There I discovered my passion for engineering and I am grateful to have partaken in such an amazing program. Being at the ATC has given me experience with CAD/CAM software, machining techniques, and welding. This blog will show what I have created at the ATC as well as any future engineering projects.
